My name is Anastasiya, and I'm so glad you're here.
©Kalligrafista was born out of a love for all things uniquely and beautifully written, as well as a desire to share the love with you.
My first big encounter with calligraphy and hand-lettering came as we were planning our wedding in 2016. I ooh-ed and ahh-ed over every beautiful sign, invitation, and table decor piece that I saw made with modern calligraphy, and I knew that I wanted our wedding to be filled with beautiful, custom lettered details just like that. What followed was a combination of sleepless nights, coffee, daily trips to the art store, hands covered in gold oil-marker stains, a lot of practice-and-error, and, ultimately, a love for the fine art of hand lettering. In the midst of all the wedding and marriage prep hassles, hand lettering became my peaceful escape.
After we got married and things settled down a bit, I came back to art and realized it was becoming more than a hobby, it was becoming a passion! A creative outlet and my happy place (apart from the happiness of sweet marital bliss, that is). And so, in March of 2017, ©Kalligrafista was born!
Since then, I’ve taken on countless projects for weddings, birthdays, styled sessions and holiday events. I letter on anything I can get my hands on, and would love for you to become a part our lettering community! My go-to phrase is, “Let me write that for you,” and I would love to do so for you, too. Of course I wouldn't be here if it weren't for my loving and supportive husband, who has encouraged me every step of the way, and even helpws with some of the projects!
When I’m not lettering away in the studio, ideally I love to have a cup of coffee with my loving husband as we chat about life and have our daily Bible devotionals together. I’m part of an amazing church community, play the ukulele (and slowly beginning to lose muscle memory for the piano), own a sweet little white Ragdoll kitty, obsess over plants and candles, and love to get out for the occasional adventure in the mountains. Oh, and I have a day job as a substitute teacher, which I love! Almost as much as hand lettering. Almost.
Welcome to our creative playground!
